Is there a minimum age at camp? What is the average age?
The minimum age is 18 years. Younger children must travel with their parents.
The average age is about at 29 years.
There are many other guests traveling alone?
Yes.
Do I need travel insurance?
We recommend a travel cancellation insurance.
Travel insurance does not cost much, but can be very useful.
Where can I get cheap rent a car?
You can easily book your rental car through our site.
Do you have special group deals?
Available for groups of 6 or more. Write us an email with your requirements, and we can make you a speacial group offer.
Do I need warm clothes?
Even in summer it can get chilly at night, so it’s recommended to pack a jumper or hoodie.
How do I book a holiday?
Once you have sent the booking form to us, you will get a payment request from us.
Once the deposit or the full amount has been credited (this is required for discounts, specials or a booking within four weeks prior to departure), you will receive a confirmation from us. From this moment your travel is booked.
Please note that no reservation can be confirmed before the payment is received!
What time is check out?
Room Check out is at 11:00am. You can stay on site after.
What time is check in?
Your room is ready for you from 14:00. When possible you can also access your room earlier.
Can I book a single room?
Single rooms can not be booked unless we have enough space.
Can we book a triple room?
We usually have only twin rooms, however our rooms are big enough to easily accommodate a third bed.
Although I have vacation I must still work from time to time. Can I find the necessary peace in the Surf House?
Due to the size of the house and the many reception rooms, etc. You can find definitely a quiet place to work.
How far is it to the nearest supermarket?
Small supermarkets / corner shops are within a few minutes ride by bike.
Is there a laundry service?
Yes, for € 5, we can wash your clothes.
Do you provide towels and bed linen?
Fresh bed linen is provided, please bring your own towels.
Can I extend my stay at short notice on the spot?
Sure, provided we have room availability you can extend your stay.
Can I cook for myself?
Yes, there is a communal kitchen.
I am allergic / vegetarian / I eat … .Do you cater for special dietry requirements?
We are happy to consider your specific dietry requirements. Please fill in the appropriate field in catering at time of booking. If you depend on certain foods, such as gluten-free bread, you should bring this with you.
Can I request dinner on the day?
Sure, that’s no problem.
What time is breakfast and dinner?
Breakfast is served Monday through Friday at 09:00. On weekends, late breakfast is at 11:00.
Dinner will be served at 20:30.
How far is it from Surf House to the sea? How far is it to the nearest beach?
It is about 350m from the sea (cliffs). The nearest beach is in Burgau.
On foot you need about 15 minutes, or 5 minutes by bike.
Are there any animals in the Surf House?
Yes, two friendly dogs Nina & Natas, and a cat.

When do I have to pay for surf lessons / surf equipment?
The surf lessons or equipment must be paid on the spot (cash)
I’m sick and can’t join the surf lesson. Do I still have to pay surfing course for the day?
Yes! Unless you can let us know in before 18:00, a day in advance!
Is there a fixed start date for the surf course?
The surf course starts every Monday.
I am an absolute beginner surfers. What qualifications do I need to participate in the surf course?
You should be able to swim!
Are there sharks in Portugal?
No!
How big are the groups for surf lessons?
There is a maximum of 1 instructor to 8 students. Our surf school tries to limit group sizes to 20 students.
Which beaches do the surf lessons take place?
Our main beach for surf lessons Arrifana, which is ideal to for learning to surf. If the conditions are not appropriate on a given day, the school will transport students to an alternative beach.
Do I need a car to go surfing?
Yes. To utilise the full potential of the Algarve region for surfing, you definitely need a car.
We can provide the cheapest car hire.
What kind of wetsuit would you recommend?
We advise you to a long wetsuit, and depending on the season between 3/2 and 4/3mm.
My board needs to be repaired. Is this possible?
For minor ding repairs we can help you to repair your board on site.
Is your board more damaged, we will arrange for a local shaper to help you.
My boyfriend / girlfriend is not joing the surf course. Can he / she can still get transport to the surf beach?
If there is space in the van this is not a problem. However, we can not guarantee the transport.

Do you pick-up from the airport?
Yes, you can book a shuttle service from Faro Airport. Please enter the dates on the booking form.
When does the airport shuttle run?
Provided that we have advance notice, please send us your flight arrival details and we will provide you with the pick-up information.
